Guide

How are riding groups assigned?

When booking, you choose instruction or free riding. We then assign your riding group based on your lap time and experience. The aim is to share the track with riders at a similar pace.

01

Four groups with different paces

We ride in groups A, B, C and D. A is the fastest and D the calmest. B and C sit between them in pace.

Instruction takes place within group D. This does not mean that everyone in D takes instruction: free riders may also be assigned to D. Your riding group and your choice of guidance are two different things.

02

Provide a useful lap time

Enter a lap time that reflects your current level and say which circuit you set it on. A lap time from another circuit is useful too. You do not need to have ridden the circuit of your booked trackday before.

Give a realistic time, not a target time. A good estimate helps us assign your starting group.

Do you have circuit experience but no useful lap time? Contact us beforehand and tell us where and how much you have ridden. We can then discuss your group with you. If you have never ridden on a circuit, choose instruction.

03

We review groups at lunchtime

The lap times you provide in advance help with the starting groups. At lunchtime we review the groups using the lap times ridden during the day. You may therefore ride in a different group in the afternoon than in the morning.

After lunch, check your group and its timetable before getting ready for the next session.

04

Is the pace not right for you?

If you are much faster or slower than the rest of your group, or uncomfortable with the pace, talk to the team. We will see whether a change is needed and possible. Do not ride in another group on your own initiative.

Discuss a switch from instruction to free riding with your instructor. It can happen only if the instructor considers it safe. Such a switch does not automatically mean changing riding groups.
