Guide
Prepare your bike for track use
Good preparation starts at home, not at technical inspection. Check your bike well before the trackday. Both road bikes and track bikes are welcome, but they must be in good technical condition.
Tyres and tyre pressure
Check your tyres for wear, damage and cracks from ageing. If you use road tyres, make sure they have enough tread. Do not start a circuit day on tyres that are already due for replacement.
No single tyre pressure is right for every bike and tyre. The correct pressure depends, among other things, on tyre type and conditions. Follow the tyre manufacturer's guidance or ask the tyre service for advice. Do not simply copy another rider's pressure.
At the tyre service you can use a pump and gauge free of charge to set the right pressure.
Brakes
Check the brake pads, discs and fluid, and look for leaks. Check that both front and rear brakes work. If something feels different or you are unsure about their condition, have them checked before the trackday.
Chain, controls and fastenings
Check the chain and sprockets for wear. Make sure the chain is lubricated and adjusted according to your bike's instructions.
Check that the throttle returns smoothly and that the brake and clutch levers work properly. Also check fastenings, including fairing panels, footrests and exhaust. No parts should be loose.
Fluids and leaks
Check oil and coolant levels according to the bike manufacturer's instructions. Look at hoses, connections and underneath the bike too. Any leak must be fixed before you go on track.
Technical inspection at the circuit is not a substitute for maintenance. Have work you are unsure about done by a professional beforehand.
Mirrors, lights and exhaust
We recommend taping over or removing mirrors and lights. This is advice, not a general requirement. Always read the specific rules for your trackday as well.
Original exhausts are allowed. A modified exhaust must always have a dB killer. In either case, your bike must stay within the circuit's noise limit. That limit is stated with the trackday.
Need help on the day?
The tyre service can change tyres you bring yourself and also offers new tyres. Contact us in advance about availability of the tyres you need.
They may also be able to help with emergency repairs and regular work, if time allows. Do not count on overdue maintenance being resolved during your trackday.
