Guide
Instruction or free riding?
At Trackzone you choose instruction or free riding when you book. That choice concerns the guidance you receive. We determine your riding group based on your lap time and experience.
Never ridden on a circuit? Choose instruction
Choose instruction for your first circuit day, even if you have ridden many miles on public roads. On track you will encounter different lines, speeds and arrangements. Your instructor helps you get to know them.
If you already have circuit experience but want extra guidance or to refresh the basics, instruction may also suit you. If unsure, discuss what you are looking for with us beforehand.
You ride with an instructor in the morning
You ride with three to five participants behind an instructor, depending on the circuit. Instruction groups ride within group D.
Before riding, you meet your instructor and discuss what to expect. On track you work step by step on learning the circuit, your lines and building your pace.
After each guided session you discuss how it went. You can ask questions and receive points to focus on in the next session. Let the instructor know if the pace feels too high or too low.
You ride independently in the afternoon
The usual programme consists of guided sessions in the morning and free riding in the afternoon, within your assigned group. You can then practise independently what you have learned.
Instruction in the afternoon is also possible. Discuss this with your instructor if you would like to continue riding with guidance.
When should you choose free riding?
Free riding is for participants with circuit experience who can ride independently and know the arrangements on track. You do not follow a fixed instruction programme; you ride your assigned group's sessions.
Free riding does not automatically put you in a fast group. Participants in group D also ride independently. You do not need to ride at a high pace to choose free riding.
Can you switch during the day?
You may switch from instruction to free riding if your instructor considers it safe. Discuss it with your instructor first; you do not decide this alone.
If you have questions about your group while free riding or feel uncomfortable with the pace, speak to the team. We can then look together at what fits.
